Cruise formal night got a whole lot more magical – this dress made me feel like a princess!
Ahh, cruise season is upon us… which means… formal nights on the high seas are here! With endless dinner photos, sunset cocktails, and the chance to dress up like nowhere else, it’s the perfect excuse to go all out. In fact, I just got back from a cruise myself hehe!! If you’ve already booked your voyage but are still wondering “what should I wear?” – this post is for you. Today, I’m sharing an honest, down-to-earth review of a gown that absolutely delivered.
As a fellow petite curvy girl (5’3”, ~130 lbs, and a 32G bra size – yes, fit is a nightmare sometimes), I know the struggle of ordering formal dresses online. You cross your fingers, you pray, and often… you return. But this time? I took a chance on a champagne-colored gown that was on sale, and I was BLOWN AWAY.

This dress is AMAZING! I bought it on a whim for fun, just hoping for the best. The size 6 with the corset back fit like a dream – I could adjust it perfectly to my figure. No tailoring needed! And get this: I didn’t even have to shorten it once I added a hoop skirt and some heels. (Petite girls, rejoice!!)
The champagne color is very pretty – more of a pale yellow than the online photo, but I won’t argue with Belle vibes hehe! That said, in certain lighting, it came across as ivory, and more than a few people thought it was a wedding dress. So just a heads-up if you’re not trying to steal that kind of spotlight 😉
A small caution – if you plan to wear a wire hoop skirt underneath, be aware that at certain angles, you can see the hoops through the delicate skirt. If I didn’t have to pack it for travel, I might have chosen an underskirt with more soft layers for volume instead of wires. That said, even with the wire skirt, the dress was beautiful. I got so many compliments and honestly felt like a princess. ✨
